Basic Car Maintenance Curriculum introducing car skills to the Northside community in order to promote regular maintenance, introduce recognition of oncoming issues and combat breakdowns. The 9 basic topics are purchasing, types of vehicles, walkarounds, tires, flats tires, dash lights, jump starts and batteries, fluids and brakes. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask any other questions that they may have. The session will consist of an educational portion discussing the previously listed topics in depth as well as a hands on portion to identify placement and function of car parts. Participants will be asked to do a survey indicating familiarity with vehicle maintenance prior to the session and another following. Lunch will be provided.
