| I have secured a .5 teacher position at North High, in the arts department, teaching theater. One problem is that very few of the students really know about the class or the opportunities that being creative in a theater class can unlock for them. I want to promote my program by bringing in professional Black artists creating in all forms, to be guest teaching artists and give the students of North High who are primarily African-American, the best examples of Black creativity. The artists will be paid for their time to come in and do workshops, demonstrations and performances for my classes, afterschool, and assemblies. |
