Sown Emancipation Youth Entrepreneurship Fair

We raise money to host youth entrepreneurship fairs which are real-time marketplace events for youth from our workshops at North Regional Library and other young people to launch their developed business ideas to real customers for profits and hopefully prizes.

We are intentional about providing accessible opportunities for specifically Northside youth. This is why we host free weekly sessions out of North Regional Library and chose a Fair site in North Minneapolis. We’re making black and brown children aware of what entrepreneurship is, helping them to start real businesses and then providing a safe environment for them to test out the idea with real customers. The more they launch business ideas, youth become believers in the reality of access they have to their own potential and think more expansively about how entrepreneurship and economic empowerment can help them in school and life. This project is sowing the seeds for North Minneapolis youth to be future business creators and owners.
