The MFT/ESP strike was especially harmful and hurtful to educators of color whom spoke up around their concerns that both the district and union keep their words about retaining educators of color and Indigenous educators, and were met with dishonesty, resistance, disparaging comments, and dismissal.

We want to create a healing space for them to process their pain and develop restorative methods to finish the year strong, keeping our students at the center of our work. This will be done through the theories of SEED facilitation (Seeking Educational Equity + Diversity, and Resmaa Menakem’s somatic abolitionist healing training.
